As resellers, we’re always seeking new avenues to grow our businesses and maximize our profits. If you’re looking for a fresh way to expand your inventory and earn additional income without upfront investment, the Poshmark Consignment Network may be exactly what you’re looking for.

What is the Poshmark Consignment Network?

Poshmark has launched an exciting beta initiative called the Poshmark Consignment Network, designed to connect trusted sellers (known as Closet Partners) with consignors who want to sell their items hassle-free. This program offers a unique opportunity for experienced sellers to increase their inventory at zero upfront cost and minimal risk.

Currently, this network is in a limited beta phase, primarily available in areas like the San Francisco Bay Area. However, as this pilot program evolves, it is expected to expand rapidly, providing resellers nationwide with new opportunities.

How Does Poshmark Consignment Work?

The process is straightforward and transparent, making it easy for resellers and consignors alike.

For Closet Partners (Sellers):

  1. Receive Consignment Items: Approved sellers receive carefully selected items directly from consignors through Poshmark.

  2. List & Sell: Sellers are responsible for photographing, listing, pricing, and promoting these consignment items in their Poshmark closets.

  3. Earn 50% Commission: After an item sells, earnings are split 50/50 between the Closet Partner and the consignor, after Poshmark’s fees.

For Consignors:

  1. Send Items Effortlessly: Consignors simply ship their items to the Closet Partner through Poshmark (Poshmark has partnered with Uber) eliminating the hassle of listing and managing sales.

  2. Track Sales Seamlessly: Consignors can track the status of their items and sales within the Poshmark app.

This consignment approach provides a stress-free way for individuals to declutter their closets, while resellers gain fresh inventory without purchasing upfront.

Eligible Items and Prohibited Listings

Poshmark is specific about what items are acceptable for the Consignment Network. Eligible items include women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, and accessories in clean and wearable condition. Sellers must carefully inspect each consignment item to ensure it meets Poshmark’s quality standards.

However, it’s critical for resellers to familiarize themselves with prohibited items on Poshmark to avoid account issues. Common prohibited items include:

  • Used makeup and beauty products

  • Counterfeit or replica items

  • Electronics, home appliances, or household items (excluding certain approved categories)

  • Perfumes, fragrances, and aerosol products

  • Hazardous materials or items restricted by shipping regulations

For a detailed list, visit Poshmark’s Prohibited Items.
