My very Southern Grandmother always said a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet. But when you’re a reseller and work from home, strangers are friends you’ll never meet unless you proactively attempt to get out there and socialize. This can be a very isolating job, and even when we venture outside to thrift, we’re often alone.
Remember when you worked outside of the home and would see your coworkers each day at the office, chat, and get to know each other? There’s no universal place we all commute to each day for our jobs—or is there?
How do we, as self-employed small business owners, make friends? How do we avoid being isolated and lonely? Where are all the like-minded folks with whom to share our pain points and celebrate our wins?
The answer is community—more specifically, the reselling community and, even more specifically, the List Perfectly community.

The Listing Parties aren’t always strictly classroom atmospheres. You can hang out in the 24-hour room, open around the clock, and work with other resellers in a virtual office. Sometimes, sellers chat about the latest Netflix show, their pets, or how to cook a roast.
I host a show every Friday at 4 pm EST where we talk about True Crime while we work. On Friday nights, resellers drink wine and list together. The tech team from LP has parties for open tech questions and help.
Whether you like to hold the spotlight and teach or sit quietly and listen to others, there is a place for you in the Lising Parties. Each party is a Zoom call you enter and attend at your comfort level. You can be muted and have your camera off if you want to hang out in the background and learn. Or you can be like me, be on camera boisterously, and share your screen all the time to teach others. Whatever your social comfort level and camera shyness, there is a place for you.
In addition, there’s a directory where you can find and hire vetted Listing Assistants or sign up to be one yourself for another stream of income. There’s even a place to shop each other’s listings so we can support each other before buying outside the community.
