We’re all familiar with the phrase “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Two Phoenix women are turning that treasure into tangible revenue with a versatile, user-friendly e-commerce platform.
Amanda Morse and Clara Albornoz founded List Perfectly for sellers to efficiently post products on multiple online marketplaces like Poshmark, Mercari and eBay.
List Perfectly’s mission is to help sellers work smarter not harder with an array of advanced tools that allow users to cross-post items, delist, relist, manage inventory and more. Its member base has grown exponentially over the past year, allowing users to save time, reach new customers and make more sales with ease.
The company is also sustainability-driven, committed to keeping products out of landfills and reducing CO2 impact with each sale.
Morse and Albornoz help resellers post everything from clothes and jewelry to old bottles of perfume and VHS tapes with the click of a button. Albornoz says they are seeing an “’80s explosion” online, with buyers interested in CDs, video games, clothing and memorabilia from that era. “Vintage is back,” Albornoz says. “It’s very, very exciting.”
Morse says reselling items online is easy and accessible to everyone. Sellers are seeing a lot of success because “we’re in a generation that embraces resale,” she says.
The idea for List Perfectly was born out of desperation, Albornoz says. She was diagnosed with severe deformative arthritis, which deterred her from the labor-intensive sourcing, photographing and shipping of products. Morse says Albornoz’s arthritis was a “motivation” to come up with a less laborious solution.
“Ever since I began reselling in 2003, I dreamed of a platform like List Perfectly that would help us to expand our selling online to other marketplaces and help us list faster,” Morse says. “Through years and years of online reselling, the idea became more and more concrete. We started putting initial steps together as far back as 2011.”
Some marketplaces have a form on which you can list products. Some of them have advanced tools that allow you to create a listing but the majority of sites that resellers use do not come equipped with advanced seller tools. “We create a bridge for sellers to access these marketplaces that don’t have these advanced business tools,” Morse says.
Put simply, List Perfectly “empowers sellers of any size with listing tools that can give them a dignified source of income,” she adds. She and Albornoz also hope to inspire people to bootstrap their own business and turn resale side hustles into full-time gigs.
“During [COVID], a lot of people lost their jobs. A lot of people didn’t have a way to pay the rent or the mortgage or the lights. Selling things online gave them that source of income,” Morse says. “You set your own prices. You are in total control of your own business and your own money.”
She adds that it’s difficult as a reseller to create online listings across multiple platforms. List Perfectly gives sellers freedom to expand and reach more buyers. “You want to get the right eyeballs on your items to be able to sell them,” she says. “At the end of the day, that’s what we’re doing. We’re facilitating sales.”
Albornoz says List Perfectly changed her life. “The online world is incredible. It’s very generous. There is room for everybody.”
