As a long-time eBay seller, many people ask me, “How do you manage it all?” I believe it’s all about creating a positive lifestyle versus having a job. Many components go into working from home and making a living at it. For this post, I wanted to share something that helps me to break up my day and keep it interesting.
One of the keys to success is never to get bored and to love what you do. My original goal was to be available 24/7 for my children and to get the bills paid simultaneously.
Anything is possible. Taking a deep dive into what makes you happy is critical. Understanding your desires can be the driving force to creating a path to a lifestyle that meets your needs. Everyone is different.
I get bored quickly, so my challenge is to keep things entertaining and moving. By entertaining, I mean changing the routine and always looking for ways to simplify the selling system.
One of my strategies is to place several computers throughout my home. However, this concept can be accomplished with one laptop and several dedicated workstations throughout the home office. I have a dedicated desktop with a big screen, a portable Macbook, and a bedroom nook.
Creating different work areas gives us freedom and a change of scenery. Mine is as easy as a bedroom corner stand-up desk with a high back chair, so I can stand or sit with the curtain open on a sunny day. In that area, I keep a dedicated computer mainly for podcast recordings. I call that computer my “List Perfectly” computer! Side note: It helps to give workspace and/or computers a productive name.
In the grand dance of life, avoiding the pitfalls of prolonged sitting or standing is my secret sauce. Rotating through my online selling day keeps me on my toes and ensures I don’t lose precious hours immersed in work.

These habits have been woven into the fabric of my lifestyle for many years, and I’m genuinely delighted to have shared a glimpse into my daily routine.
