Vestiairecollective.com has acquired Tradesy and Tradesy is shutting down
If you are a Tradesy seller, you probably already know that by the end of 2022, Tradesy will be no more. Vestiairecollective.com has acquired Tradesy and Vestiaire will be handling all of your listings that are on Tradesy when you migrate them to Vestiaire. Let’s learn all about Tradesy, Vestiaire, and the importance of storing your listings in the List Perfectly catalog.
Import all of your Tradesy listings into List Perfectly
If you don’t already have all of your listings in List Perfectly, I highly recommend that you at least import all of your Tradesy listings into List Perfectly before you transfer or migrate any of your listings over to Vestiaire. The main reason being is that if your Tradesy listing is not eligible for transfer to Vestiaire Collective, it will be deleted from the Tradesy platform and will not appear on Vestiaire. Also, once you move your listings to Vestiaire Collective, you will manage all of your listings there. You will no longer be able to create new listings or edit those listings on Tradesy. If you have listings on Tradesy that you don’t have stored anywhere else, you have no control of them at that point. If you have them stored in List Perfectly, you have full control over them and the ability to edit them and crosspost them at any time.
If you do not see the option to move your listings to Vestiaire Collective, this means you have no eligible items. If these items can’t be migrated to Vestiaire and you don’t have them stored in List Perfectly, they are simply lost. They will disappear during the migration, as Vestiaire will weed them out and delete them.
Tradesy categories have no exact match on Vestiaire Collective
Another interesting point is, while Tradesy and Vestiaire Collective share many categories, some Tradesy categories have no exact match on Vestiaire Collective. When your listings are moved, they will be categorized as the best possible match to make it easy for Vestiaire Collective buyers to find it. This doesn’t seem like a major issue but wouldn’t you want to have this information stored somewhere? Even more reason to move your Tradesy listings to List Perfectly first for peace of mind and to keep them safe.
Vestiaire Collective only allows you to lower the listing price and add additional photos
One more thing, Vestiaire Collective only allows you to lower the listing price and add additional photos. Once your listing has been moved to Vestiaire Collective, you cannot edit any of the listing details aside from lowering the price and adding photos. So, if you want to edit other details in the listing, such as the item condition, description, or anything else, you will have to remove the listing and create a new one on Vestiaire. If you have your listings stored in List Perfectly, you can use the information from the listings stored in List Perfectly to create that new listing and you won’t have to re-measure, re-photograph, or re-describe your item. Everything is stored in List Perfectly and you can draw from that information to create a new listing.
Some things to keep in mind before you migrate your listings from Tradesy to Vestiaire
If you still aren’t convinced that you should import your listings to List Perfectly first, here are some things to keep in mind before you migrate your listings from Tradesy to Vestiaire:
Your listing will not transfer if:

- The listing has an asking price of under $18
- The listing is from one of these categories: Fragrance, Maternity, Wedding Decorations, Wedding Invitations & Paper, Wedding Miscellaneous, & Wedding Gifts (excluding some listings under Luggage and Wedding Other)
- The listing is under the Wedding Category listed as a “sample” under the condition
- The listing is under the Brand of unbranded, other, handmade, custom-made, or vintage.
With all of these factors at play, please consider moving your listings to List Perfectly and storing them there for safekeeping. Whether you are migrating your listings from Tradesy to Vestiaire or not, it is a reliable, safe, and easy place to store all of your listings and photos.
